Napa Valley

So where did I leave off? Oh yes... Napa Valley! It should be called Valley of the Gods and everything that is good and holy in California :) The limo picked us up at the hotel and off we went. At first things were looking a little dismal but the fog, as you will see, quickly cleared!

Our first stop took us to Road 31 winery at White Rock Vineyards- the oldest vines in the valley. The winemaker Kent was kind enough to show us the sites in and around the caves and sample his wine. Kent produces on wine, a fabulous Pinot Noir. He, along with the rest of the guys on the soccer team he plays with, rents out a portion of White Rock's caves to produce their wines. Talk about keeping it all in the family!

This is White Rock's vines on the estate.

Here we are in the caves... aged to perfection!

This is the whole crew, from Left to Right: Jenna Naylor, Lindey "The Bachelorette" Wurtzel, Leanne Rutherford, Erin Patton, Christina Mazzola, Laura Olin, Kent, Kelly Moore, Allison Fox and yours truly.

From Road 31 we headed north in the valley, to almost the tip, to Rombauer Vineyard. They have some amazing wines and their flagship is their Chardonnay. I'm not a huge Chardonnay fan but this was wonderful- buttery, fragrant and smooth.

Here comes the sun do do do do! Yes there is the view from the tasting room. And the fire down in the center of the shot is a controlled burn from pruning the vines. It was a perfect day- no wind just lots of sunshine!!

And of course Linds found something to ride on the way out to the limo! No we aren't in Jurrassic Park, but that is a dinosaur!

From Rombauer we moved onto our last stop, Duckhorn Vineyards just south. They had a beautiful new tasting room, great wines and we all enjoyed being outside!

From Left to Right: Tina, Erin, Kelly, Laura, Linds and Leanne.

The tastings were done outside on their porch... talk about the perfect Napa image. (Why so grey you ask? The vines and trees weren't "blossoming" yet but everything else was.)

Enjoying one another and the great wines (Tina snuck a bottle out!) outside!

With a long ride back to the city we use the WC and look what Tina and I found... inspiring "duck" cartoons! Can you guess which one that is? :)

What a great day filled with new and fun experiences. Truly Napa is a beautiful place and is a must to return to!!

Happy to be!

Salud Linds!!
