Where have I been?
Well I am sorry that I have been such a horrible blogger. When life throws you a curve ball, it really throws you a curve ball.
While in Colorado I found out that I (along with 39 of my fellow employees) lost my job. The private club I was working at ran out of money (all of a sudden, yah, right) and they shut down everything, laid everyone off the locked the doors. Before the dust had a chance to settle on the reality of the situation I was starting to plan my dream of being a business owner. And now, I can officially say that my dream has become a reality and A Day in May has breathed it's first breath.
I've always been a creative gal playing with my dad's watercolors, stealing his camera an helping my mom stitch hundreds of sequins on my dance costumes. As I've grown up I've bounced around between mediums- a camera, rubber stamps, paper crafts. It wasn't until planning our wedding that I truly discovered my medium- event planning. Last year at the club I worked for, I planned all our major events for our real estate, golf and member divisions.
Seeing as how I was so inspired by our special day, it only seemed fitting that our company reflected that moment... A Day in May. I've just started to develop an "image" and I am in love with my logo. Very simple, elegant and timeless. All my hopes and dreams for A Day in May wrapped up into one! Here are a few samples of the photo-sets I am developing for marketing material. Check them out and tomorrow I'll post our Colorado trip!

We're back!
We made it back late last night from a fabulous vacation. Our first "couple" vay-cay was a huge success. Great friends, great food and great weather. We skied three days; Keystone, Vail & Breckenridge then toured Breckenridge, Red Rocks and Denver. Stay tuned for some great pictures and our "Best's Of" list!
